3. Earth
This one you may recognise, it is our HOMELY home. The only place that we know of (so far) that contains life.
Earth is pretty WET, by far the wettest planet in the gang with over 70% of its surface covered in water. The other planets enjoy the company of earth because she is so SUPPORTIVE, she sits in the Goldilocks Zone which is the perfect distance from the sun, meaning it’s not too hot or too cold for liquid water to exist.
You will notice that she is on a slight angle, that’s because she has a tilt of 23 degrees. This is what gives her the changing seasons, from summer through to winter.
Earth has a massive smile as you can see, we know it as the incredible Sahara Desert, which spans a huge area of Africa.
You’ll notice that she is also looking to the side, she’s looking back at her twin Venus. They are called twin-planets because both planets are rocky, similar in size and made up of similar materials.
See the small red ball floating around Earth? That’s her little sidekick, the Moon. A few of the gang call her only sidekick Luna but she simply calls it – Moon. Hence the letter M.
